I commented on Chelsey's post saying " I really liked the extreme closeup it was really cool but was still kind of creepy.
your two shot really made me laugh you did a great job of capturing both subjects in the frame and your cat actually seemed to be listening. I really enjoyed your tilt shot it built up a lot of anticipation"
I also commented on Corey's post " I really enjoyed your eye level shot I'm surprised you got your dog to stay still throughout the whole video.
your low angel shot made me smile because from that angel your dog does look like a rat which you said I found funny. The extreme close-up shot was cool I know its hard to work with animals and its hard to get them to be still you could often use treats".
This choker shot is one of the first shots of the movie as you can still see the actors names showing. It is a choker shot of the main character "Django" and shows only him as he and other slaves are being transported. This shot is used to show a subjects facial features and reactions.
2) High angle shot-
This high angle shot is right after Dr.king Schultz shot and killed a slave trader and another slave traders horse crushing him. The point of a high angle shot like this is to make the character feel small or vulnerable usually as in this scene it is used to show how weak and powerless the slave trader is.
3) Head on shot-
In this head on shot Dr.King Schultz and his new partner Django ride towards the screen on a wagon and their horses. A head on shot is typical used to show the action coming to the camera and in this scene it is used extremely well even though it is not too action packed it really sets the mood and is a cool shot.
4) Pan shot-
This scene is between Dr.King Schultz, Django, and the sheriff when they are confronting each other about being in the town and a Pan shot is used to capture both groups talking. A pan shot is typically used to to reveal the setting and giving the audience a better view it can also be used to switch point of view between one subject and another subject which is happening in this scene.
5) Low angle shot-
In this low angle shot Django now a free man has found his previous slave owners who is a wanted man and grabs his gun and shoots him till he runs out of ammo. A low angle shot is a shot filmed down low often looking up at the main subject and this shot can create an effect that makes the subject look very strong and or powerful as portrayed in this scene.
6) Over the shoulder shot-
An over the shoulder shot is used in this scene as Django and Dr.king Schultz prepare to fire on a bounty who is farming in the field with his son. The point of an over the shoulder shot is capture the view of the main character but also shows their shoulder , head , and even side of the face. This shot can often be used to control the level of identification an audience has with a subject or can display a relationship between two characters on the screen.
7) Establishing shot-
In this scene the group are heading to the biggest plantation in the south called "candy land" and an establishing shot is used to show the entrance to the white plantation mansion. An establishing shot is a long shot that shows the location and mood which is also one of the most common film shots and could be considered one of the easiest too.
8) Close up shot-
In this scene a closeup shot is used on Django gun which he is deciding to put back and not pull out. A closeup shot is similar to a choker but this type of shot can be of an object such as Django's gun. This shot can be used to show the focus of an object instead of subject.
This first shot was a choker shot and one of the easiest shots i think personally, this shot seems awfully similar to a close up.
The second shot I did was a establishing shot which would have been easy without with the rain outside. The rain and my long driveway really set the mood which is the whole purpose of this type of shot.
The third shot I did was a head on shot which was hard to do when you are by yourself. I had to set up the camera and roll my dogs tire without knowing what the outcome would look like once I was done.
The forth shot I did was an extreme close-up which was easy because I used a taxidermy fish eye for my main focus I personally find this shot very cool.
The fifth shot I did was a high angle shot which I did at school, this shot is something I don't think i see used in a lot of films and movies really.
The sixth shot I did was a low angle shot with my dog which was hard for me to get her to look down I can only imagine how hard it is to work with animals in any type of film.
The seventh shot I did was an over the shoulder shot of my dog chewing on her tire. I like this shot a lot if I was filming a movie I definitely would include this shot.
The eighth shot I did was a Pan shot and was by far the easiest shot out of these 10.I see this shot used in almost every movie and would definitely call this one of the most basic shots.
The ninth shot I did was a pov shot which was considerable one of the hardest shots to do with out the right equipment. In this shot I washed my hands in the school bathroom and was even struggling with that.
The tenth shot I did was a tilt shot which like the pan shot was also one of the easier shots. I like this shot too I feel like this shot could build possible anticipation in a thrilling moment.
